2018 is going to be an interesting year for me, moving house & getting settled will be the first few things that will surely happen in the beginnings of the new year. Getting myself setup and back on track with both my music and training will also strongly be a focus on getting my blog content up to speed.
Choosing themes for my blog is no longer the primary focus as I want to just get on with it these days and start writing quality content. My blog is more on a personal nature so articles will refer to my creative career songwriting system builds and the like, with an 8700k planned for my next system build I am really looking forward to getting it into a completed build next year and reviewing my thoughts on it compared to the 1800x.
Stuff like computer hardware, gaming, and new music releases are the types of articles I mainly post but also articles referring to my health may pop up from time to time to express concerns or show progress, my writing style is pretty standard and I just want to reach out share some music and build progress to get people interested in certain aspects of my life.
I have been watching a lot of videos recently showing some information on refreshes of the current CPU's expected next year hopefully they will be affordable as I would like to replace the 1800x if required. I get roughly 3.9 ghz out of it stable 24/7 and have enjoyed it for the most part and must have been somewhat lucky with my brothers 1700 also running around 3.85-3.9 so these CPU's have served us well.
2017 seen some pretty interesting hardware come into my system build, new 2k monitor, 1080ti and upgrading from a 4 core i7 to an 8 core AMD Ryzen PC, moved some of my music to a new platform and built my brother a brand new PC using the Fractal Design Node 804.
The prices of the AMD Processors have dropped since my initial purchase I also have a R5 1600 in a smaller system build that also performs really well, sticking an Air tower or water-block on it should do well with a 3.9 or 3.8 OC. overclocking mildly nothing extreme. if a chip cant do a frequency in the safe range I back it off and settle close to the AMD suggestions. more about this in my future posts!
Music Production Over the past couple of years I have reduced a lot of my published songs as I have moved away from samples as much as possible in my productions particularly the use of loops.
it was fun creating music with the tools I had but as time has moved forwards so has my talent and shifting to midi has unlocked a lot more potential for my electronic music interests. EDM, House & Trance sound. creating a fusion of the 2 has always been something I love doing when I produce music sets and I look forward to releasing some chillout tracks in 2018 as well. Check out Reaching The Stars, my 2017 production with Micheal Barrett.
Making it in the music has been increasingly difficult over the years with income going down its been hard to stay in the music production game and i have got into web design and blogging as an alternative option. I still create music for those that still wonder how we are doing its just not all published the same way anymore and a lot of it used to go directly to a publisher.
We used to upload lots and lots of songs to music websites I have been focused on uploading to my own sites and learning how to create widgets myself for the purpose. I am eager to read comments from our readers at cootason feel free to suggest music styles you would like to hear from our team. let us know what you'd like to hear from us. Trance, Hard House, Dubstep? Chillstep etc.
I grabbed Xfer Records, Serum in 2017 and have been including some of the vst instrument presets with my music lately its been a fun VST to mess about on.
I am torn between about 3 different DAW's that I work on and still prefer using Mixcraft as my daily workstation for creating music. its been hard for me to switch DAW's since Acid Pro. I have managed to enjoy using Mixcraft for quite some time for getting quick ideas together.
I plan to get more consistent with my training goals this year upping my training 3-5 workouts a week and get out on my bike more. no sense following mentors that motivate and inspire people and then not apply any of them to myself so its always a good time to start applying some of that knowledge gained and applying it to my own lifestyle heck i might actually finish my transformation!
So I will be working on just that boosting my training commitment and getting more cardio done even through the heatwave issues we are facing in the area i will be making it happen in 2018 as one of my primary goals for the year.
Diet changes I plan to cut back the breads for the most part and keeping the fats and proteins as much as possible for my cut cycle to see how things pan out. and experimenting to find a balance. intermittent fasting will be kept in as i prefer fasting most mornings or doing fat fasting through the morning and lunch I eat most of the calories during the night with main dinner etc.
I have always had a difficult time sticking with low carb as I live in a shared home so not always an easy task, I tend to keep Sweet potato in my menu absolutely love the stuff.
I have found doing IF intermittent fasting to be one of the best ways to keep myself in control especially fat fasting since I do get some calories to make it through the day and feel a lot healthier than I do when I used to eat cereals less sugar cravings and interest in junk foods clearer head as well plus I don't Mind the coffee :P.
Its been interesting preparing and creating this 2018 Goal List and setting out my plan, as with everything though its all subject to change throughout the year and this is a guideline hopefully I can succeed the goals set forward and make an awesome blog in the process. I'll do my best to keep you posted on my progress and if you have any suggestions feel free to leave them in the comments section.
All the best for now
